Sanaul Haq: UP man who became head of al-Qaeda in the Indian subcontinent
Haq ran away from home in Sambhal in 1995. He made his way to Pakistan, and joined the old ISI asset, Harkat-ul-Mujahideen. He rose rapidly in the jihadist world thereafter, and was chosen by Ayman al-Zawahiri to lead al-Qaeda in the subcontinent. Last month, he was killed by US and Afghan forces.
